Downtown events die on noise complaints. We tested end-fire and cardioid sub configurations against a fixed measurement point behind the stage and settled on a cardioid build that gives roughly 15 dB of rear rejection. The crowd keeps the chest hit. The porch two streets over gets its evening back.

We generate stage and lighting looks from the event brief, then rebuild the approved direction in a real plot. The render is never the deliverable — it is a faster conversation. The rig still has to be engineered, rigged and programmed by people.

Busking is right for support acts and wrong for a set piece that has to hit exactly. We now build a timecode track for headline sets and reveals, with a busked fallback if the clock ever drops.

Beams are invisible without atmosphere, and atmosphere is what gets shows stopped. We built a haze protocol — particle size, placement, ramp time and airflow mapping — that keeps the rig visible and the venue calm.

A flat rectangle behind a band is the easy answer. We are prototyping broken-tile layouts, floating columns and floor extensions so the video package reads as a built environment instead of a television.

We time every phase of the build — dock to deck, deck to rig, rig to focus, focus to tune, tune to check. The log is how we quote honestly and how we know which part of the day to fix next.
